Wednesday, June 3rd

Good morning!

Language: Hopefully you didn't join "Betty with a Yeti eating baguette in the mountains of Tibet" yesterday, and that you are safely in front of your computer looking forward to reading today's poem!

Before reading today's poem, please watch this brief video introducing some of the elements of poetry: Poetry

Poets often use stanzas to organize their poems. A stanza is a group of lines of poetry, and can make a poem easier to read and to write. Each stanza of a poem usually contains the same number of lines and is separated from the other stanzas by a space. A stanza in a poem is similar to a paragrapg in prose.

Now it's time for the poem of the day: I Eat Spaghetti with a Spoon! (There is a real spaghetti theme going on)!

Math: Today we are going to explore the concept of area. Start by watching this short video which does a great job at explaining this concept: Introduction to Area. Once you have done this, try this sheet out! Area Worksheet

Have a great day and look around your house and as well as outside for examples where someone had to calculate the area to complete a task or project!
