Language: For today's poetry activity, you are going to practise using rhyming words that make the most sense: Breakfast in Bed. Why do you think the mother silently counted to ten at the end of the poem?
Math: Yesterday we learned how to calculate the area of shapes. In the following lesson, you will learn how to calculate area when only partial squares are covered by a shape. Check it out: Area with Partial Square Units .
For today and tomorrow, you can fuse your creative and measurement skills to create robots: Area and Perimeter Robots If robots aren't your thing, you can make an animal or other object and then colour it. If you don't have grid paper you will have an extra step! You will need to use a ruler to create equal squares on a piece of paper (do this lightly with a pencil). I found a couple of examples on my camera roll from last year's class. Check them out:
I think this was Alivia's cat Tulip!
Have Fun!
