Create Your Own Ad!

Today, each 3A student created a new product and then designed an ad for it using the Book Creator app. The students had to use atleast two advertising techniques we learned about in class (exaggerated claims, catchy slogans or jingles, celebrities, mascots). I will post links to their persuasive ads which encourage people to part with their money and purchase these original products!

Strong and Sturdy Bridges!

I have not been the most committed of bloggers of late! I apologize! Here are some pics of the Popsicle bridges the 3A engineers made! The bridges all passed the 4 kg test! Many groups used triangles to strengthen their designs! Not too sure how we're going to decide who gets to bring them home...

Happy Easter!

This morning, the Grade 3 classes went to the library where a table was set depicting the Last Supper. Mrs. Kelly spoke about the Last Supper, it's importance and symbols. We then all broke bread together. This afternoon, the grade 6 students treated us to a very moving Stations of the Cross presentation. The students showed great interest as well as respect during this presentation. I think they will definitely be prepared and ready to celebrate on Easter Sunday!

Bridges!

The students are applying what they have learned about stable structures and strong shapes, and are building Popsicle stick bridges. Here is a sneak peek at Sydney, Karim and Monique's bridge, as a well as Quincy, Gabriel, and Stephen's. Very different engineering styles but both feature triangles!
