Maker Mobile!

The students used lots of Math skills this morning at the Maker Mobile workshop.

Alec from The University of Ottawa led the workshop. Here he is explaining how a 3D printer works.

The students learned that the inside of a printed object is made up of tiny little plastic strings to make it strong (link to our solid structures unit in Science!).

The students' task was to build characters to fit into a car. They had to use measuring skills to determine how big to make their character.

Then they used the Tinkercad software to design their characters.

Watching the 3D printers in action!

I will post more pictures once the 3D characters are printed!
