NumerARTcy Afternoon!

The whole school participated in a NumerARTcy afternoon today. The afternoon for the primary classes started with a presentation by Madame Evraire, Joshua, Connor, Lana and Lauryn. They discussed symbols and Math in a piece of Imdigenous art the class collaboratively created.


Masks the students had made in French were also on display:

Mrs. Evert and Mrs. Sabourin then introduced the Grade 3 students to artist Paul Klee's work. The students were able to see lots of Math in his buildings.


The students then had a turn...

After recess, the students visited Mrs. McLachlan who spoke to them abut circles in Wassily Kadinsky paintings. 

They then got to try that out!


We will be assembling the creations of all the primary students into a MarthARTcy quilt next week... Here's a sneak peak:
