This week we have been exploring place value during math. Yesterday, the students used their knowledge of place value to build robots. The students were given a number in the hundreds that they had to represent using base ten blocks. Once they successfully represented the number, they had to show the same number a different way (for example, switch a 1 hundred block for 10 tens). Once they successfully met this challenge, they had to build a robot with these blocks. They really enjoyed this process and their imaginations ran wild!
