The Wonderful World of Plants!

This week we began our study of the incredible world of plants! In our first Mystery, we explored the idea that plants can move around. We learned that plants survive by dispersing their seeds by wind (maples), water (coconuts) and animals (cherries). The students built three seed models and practised dropping the seeds from a height, in order to avoid the dreaded "zone of darkness" (i.e. the shade!)

Here is an action shot of some of the students trying out their rotocopters! These were the best ones- they twirled just like maple keys.

They also made twirlers!

Gliders were the last ones.
