Here is our "How to Blow a Bubble" bulletin board! The students were given a piece of bubble gum last week during language class and were shown by a few bubble-blowing Grade 3 experts how to blow a perfect bubble. Quite a few were successful! The students then had to write the bubble-blowing procedure for our procedural writing unit!

Forces in Nature Using Book Creator!
Having finished their science research about forces caused by natural occurences (landslides, lightning, tidal waves, erosion), the students began having fun today presenting their findings using the Book Creator app on the iPads. The plan is to complete these ibooks this week! The students will be working on their books during some of the language blocks this week.
How Long Does It Take the Grade 3 Classes to Walk 1km?
Here were their predictions:
Mrs. Frangione and I were relieved it didn't take 11 hours! The two classes walked 1 km on Friday afternoon around the soccer field and it took us 13 minutes! The students discovered that 1 km roughly equals 1000 steps. Our measurement explorations conclude this week!

One Metre Designs!
During today's Snow Day, the kids had to make a design using 1 metre of wool. The students have been busy estimating and measuring up a storm this week in Math. This activity provided a creative twist to the measurement strand. Designs included a money sign, a star, Gretzky & Crosby's numbers (and Cassidy's!), a heart, a dragon's head, a circle, a lasso and a bowl! Well done!
